Experience Summary

Economist, 41 years old. In 2012 I've completed my PhD from Middlesex University in the UK, on how banks can promote sustainable development. I also have a MSc in Economics from Birkbeck College University of London, finished in 1999. My four-year undergraduate economics course was completed in 1997 at ISEG, in Portugal.

 

I have 18 years of working experience in CSR and sustainability related consultancy area. My career started in 1997 in the research department of the investment bank Merrill Lynch in London. In 2000 came back to Portugal and worked for diferent organizations until I founded my own businesse in 2004. Since than I have been an enterpreneur developing research and consultancy work on sustainable development and sustainability issues in Portugal, Irland, Belgium, Angola and Cabo Verde. 

 

I write regularly in the Portuguese daily economics newspaper "Diário Económico" and I'm also a television commentator on the specialised economics channel TV Económico, and on TVI24 news channel.

2016 -  Present: General Secretary at Portuguese Business Council for Sustainable Development, BCSD Portugal

 

2013 - 2015: Co-funder of SystemicSphere Lda, a research and consultancy company specialised in trends and scenario building, where the sustainability trends are a key central piece of the analysis;

 

2013 - Present: Co-funder of K Evolution, a NGO dedicated to education for sustainability;

 

2014 - 2015: Co-funder of EthicBusiness, a consultancy company that aims to help sustainable businesses to do their business plan and to find finance;

 

2004-2011: Co-funder of Sustentare Lda and Co-Founder of the Impactus Maganize, both projects dedicated to Corporate Social Responsibility of companies;
